For our dogs with short legs and those with long backs these ramps have proven themselves indispensable on a regular basis in my job as a doggy daycare owner. These smaller breeds are particularly vulnerable to spinal problems and are prone to sprains and dislocations. I see Dachshunds and Corgis, Yorkies and Pomeranians, to name just a few, that require more special care for their size and bodily structures; and we provide it for them in the hours they are with us, both day and night.
In the seven years since we first researched these dog ramps and pet stairs we have never looked back, continuing to purchase additional units to serve our growing business. They can take the credit for preventing injuries, while making our pets happier and more comfortable in the process. For low-impact therapy there is nothing to compare with these sturdy, industrial foam units in various sizes and configurations to suit our dogs, (and even our cats).
Our charges are of every size and description, pure-breeds and mixed-breeds alike from week-to-week; that helps keep us creative and perpetually challenged. We work at keeping them all from becoming bored and out of harm’s way, especially during playtime. Some of our population are at times still recovering from surgeries or contending with other health issues. In this environment they are allowed the luxury of roaming our facilities in safety and with considerable independence (with staff oversight, of course).
It is pure joy for me to behold this menagerie of large and small, young and senior-aged pets with varying degrees of skills and abilities, some with limited mobility. As an animal lover, as long as I can remember, observing this “pack” in their element is very gratifying. We keep an ample supply of ramps and steps on site to help some of them gain easy access to places otherwise difficult to reach. I have found the stress factor greatly reduced for our animals and for me.
